Plane crash scene
CBS correspondent Michelle Clark was on this plane interviewing Dorothy Hunt, wife of Watergate burglar and ex-CIA agent E. Howard Hunt. Mrs. Hunt was carrying at least $10,000 in cash as part of a payoff to silence some of the Watergate plumbers. The two women died along with 41 others on the plane and two on the ground. Attempting to land at Chicago’s Midway airport, the flight was waved off and requested to go around for another try. Of course, I didn’t know any of this at the time. Looking back, I didn’t have any real difficulty getting this close. But now, given all the security, it would have been impossible to make this picture. If you Google Dorothy Hunt you can find a raft of intriguing conspiracy stories. She used to be a CIA agent herself, probably a better one than her husband.
